Supermannen

Every Dutch town has its own music culture and is known for famous bands from a certain decade or genre. The Hague, Amsterdam and Eindhoven have positioned themselves on the map several times with innovative sounds and real pioneer spirit. A city which has been reclaimed only some decades ago, lacks a good history of roots, tradition and unity to create a musical identity. Within these circumstances, there’re always some naturals who rise to the occasion, just on quality and skills and ignoring the lack of history and unity. Think of Almere, think of Raymzter and Ali B, and within a few months, Supermannen!

The Supermannen also origin from the new musical hotbed of the Netherlands. The sole similarity with these other Almere-musicians is the use of native language; musically, Supermannen drive their amps to the max and overwhelm you with greasy riffs and a smashing rhythym section. Supermannen play with full persuasion like a post-grunge machine without settlements, with open-hearted lyrics without hiding messages..it’s like that!

The motor within Supermannen is singer/guitarist Eelco van Zanten, who proves to be an exceptional talent in songwriting. His songs have been based on a heavy rock groove, mixed with stoner rock elements and strong, dynamic melodics. They play with great enthusiasm and create a sparkling, open sound with a headline for the double guitar parts, as an huge energy generator. The chorusses are known for strong native one-liners with an unconcerned poëtic realism, enlarged with crafty language erudites. Supermannen will rock you down with words and sounds!!

During spring, they will make final adjustments to their debutalbum ‘There are only 1 Supermannen”; in the meantine, the songs are being prepared for a steamy, swirling live-show, heading for the road during summer and winter.
