Nuff Said (Publishing only)
Nuff Said is known for its outstanding live reputation. On stage, they’re an explosive machine, with high energy and dynamics. No wonder they have been elected best live band in the Netherlands last year by Live XS magazine! It’s a reward for an alternate repertoire, a great stage-performance, great skills and an unmatched ability to improvise.
Nuff Said’s album ‘Red’(Roadrunner, 1998) was an excellent kick off for the three-piece, featuring melodic popsongs with explosive rock elements. They played eminent Dutch festivals like Noorderslag and Lowlands and the singles ‘New Cake’ and ‘Sheets & Shades’ have been on high rotation on several radio stations. In 2000, they performed in a movie called ‘Wilde Mossels’, also providing the soundtrack song.
In 2003, Nuff Said recorded their 2nd album ‘Blue’ in Jet Studio’s Brussels with Werner Pensaert (K’s Choice, Zita Swoon). Their sound might be too loud for mainstream listeners, but they do a very good job as support act for headliners like Blof and Racoon. This encourages them to write new songs with more focus on melodic structures and sophisticated arrangements. Songs like ‘Far & Away’ and ‘Come on’ from the 3rd album (the ‘Yellow’ cover) bring them back to national radio again.
Their new album ‘Ebony and Ivory’ is a perfect harmony of dualism and balance. ‘Ivory” shows the sheer beauty of acoustic popsongs, emphasizing on feel, atmosphere and the vocal balance between Marijn and Willy. ‘Ebony’ contains the energetic livesound of the band, with strong choruses, dynamic solo’s and propelling rhythms and melodies. This double-album shows the real Nuff Said-picture: pure songs, lots of dynamics, melody and energy.
2007, Nuff Said did some support shows for Blof in spring, as well as some summer festivals like Anywave Zierikzee and Zwarte Cross. They now have plans to go abroad!
