With national and international music critics, Eindhoven is considered to be ‘Rock City’, like Detroit in the USA. Like this, more cities have cultivated artists and bands in a certain genre or music stream, ending up in a cult status.

In Eindhoven, rock&roll is simular for a true underground mentality. This mentality consists of pioneer spirit, renewal mentality and hold on to your music, as you’re convinced of its quality. You love your music with whole of your heart, so there’s only 1 way…straight on!
Besides rock&roll, Eindhoven also has a tradition in hiphop. Remember Djax, and 24K: headstrong quality for the connoisseur. It took quite some years, but a new bunch of talents is rising from the gutters (check www.lowereast.nl)

Macro is one of the front soldiers of this new movement. Flow, skills and rhymes are balanced with humour, improvisation and eloquence. His pronunciation is impeccable, using his native language. Compared to many collegues, Macro doesn’t run into unintelligible streams of words, but you can interpretate his lyrics word by word.

This same perfection describes his production with his friends Che and Native, confirming the significance of good ears and subservience. This ends up in a balance between music and words, supporting each other where needed and outshine at certain moments. Cause when these guys get loose, they are the true rock&rollers of hiphop!

Many hiphoppers have lost the virtue of modesty, entering the world of gold and bling bling. This isn’t the world which Macro is aiming for: he doesn’t shout pathetic lyrics, but is looking for his musical horizon. Being on the stages since 2000, he won’t become an one-day-fly or fortune-hunter: he’s deliberately working on his debut album ‘Alternaief’ to serve the real music lovers.
