This the header of ‘Slump Stories #7’, a comic-series of Rik van Iersel, based on ‘Autobahn’- adventures with Stuurbaard Bakkebaard between ’98 and ’01, where Stuurbaard Bakkebaard played at the opening of his exhibitions in Berlijn, Karlsruhe and Osnabrück.

Rik has exposed his art in many European and American cities. He’s known for the collage-effect, which he also recognizes in the music of Stuurbaard Bakkenaard. Their collaboration develops in music projects as ‘Add instant life’ uit 2002, together with Mark E. Smith (The Fall) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth). A second project in 2005 is called ‘Transparancy Wolk’, with cooperation of René van Barneveld (Urban Dance Squad) and André Manuel (Krang).

These projects encourage them to create an overwhelming collage, with more musicians and preparation time. Many friended artists have been invited, the dates are scheduled, reset and optioned again, the reherasel sessions have been confirmed and now, the first Dutch tour of BEUKORKEST has been confirmed..

The main motive of BEUKORKEST is adventure. The unique gathering of artists enables it to experiment widely, with instruments, songs, ideas and sound. The collage varies from rock, avantgarde, rap, americana, trash and pop, with an intensity which really deserves the name BEUKORKEST.
